Guide for authors through Preparing Your JIORS Paper for SUBMISSION

JIORS welcomes your submissions. All manuscripts will be refereed by a rigorous evaluation process involving at least two reviews by qualified academic or industrial OR professionals and members of the editorial board. The papers are submitted by uploading JIORS site at HTTP:// IORS.IR/JOURNAL  by considering the following instructions:

Responsibility: Submission of a manuscript is a representation that the paper has neither been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere, and that, if the work is officially sponsored, it has been released for open publication.

Text: The text should be arranged as follows: title page, abstract, introduction, main sections, appendix, acknowledgment, and references. Appendices and an acknowledgment are optional.

1. General Appearance & Specifications:

· The text of the Journal is English, therefore Articles must be written in good English. Your paper must not contain corrections or page numbers, headers or footers. This document is printed in the format that should be used in the paper.

· The text should be prepared both by Microsoft Word or Latex and in single-column format.

· Font is Times New Roman for all text.

· Articles’ Length should be as concise as possible. Regular articles should not exceed 25 standard manuscript pages. A standard manuscript page is A4 or letter size, text with 1.5 line spacing, 12 pt font and ample margins. In exceptional cases the Editors may waive this requirement.

· Title should be Concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulae. It should be in 18-point bold type.

· An abstract of between 50 and 150 words should state the purpose of the research and the main results. It must be able to stand alone.

· Keywords must be included, followed by 4-8 keywords that describe the paper's theme. List the words in decreasing order of importance from left to right. All keywords should start with a capital letter.

· Figures and tables should be original and placed in the manuscript on the page where they are referenced, or on the beginning of the following page. Titles should be centered, bold type, and below the figure or table. Figures and tables that will not fit in one column should span the entire page and should be located at the top or bottom of the page

2. References:

All citations in the text should refer to:

      • Single Author: the Author's name (without initials, unless there is ambiguity) and the year of publication;
      • Two Authors: both Authors' names and the year of publication;
      • Three or more Authors: first Author's name followed by "et al." and the year of publication.

In the references list references should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same Author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters "a", "b", "c", etc., placed after the year of publication. Examples:

o Reference to a journal publication:

Griffiths W, Judge G. Testing and estimating location vectors when the error covariance matrix is unknown. Journal of Econometrics 1992;54; 121-138 (note that journal names are not to be abbreviated).

o Reference to a book:

Hawawini G, Swary I. Mergers and acquisitions in the U.S. banking industry: Evidence from the capital markets. North-Holland: Amsterdam; 1990.

o Reference to a chapter in an edited book:
Brunner K, Melzer AH 1990. Money Supply. In: Friedman BM, Hahn FH (Eds), Handbook of monetary economics, vol.1. North-Holland: Amsterdam; 1990. p. 357-396.
Citing and listing of Web references. As a minimum, the full URL should be given. Any further information, if known (Author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.

Major headings are to be column centered, numbered, and in a capitalized bold font.

§ First Level Subheadings
Subheadings are to be numbered, left justified, bold font, and title case. No blank line is to appear between the sub-heading and the text.

§ Sub-subheadings:

Sub-subheadings are to be in a bold font, numbered, and run in at the beginning of the paragraph.

Acknowledgements should follow the text just before the references. An acknowledgment is optional.

Endnotes should be in single-spacing type at the end of the paper, just before References. Endnotes should be rare and are generally discouraged. Footnotes are NOT allowed.
